Best thing I've read here for a good while. I dream of those situations occurring... nice one. :D

Congrats Otto. Are you keeping both the P5 and P600?

Haven't had a P600 in some time. I do have a P'08 though. We will see how it goes. I try to keep my setup minimal but if I can justify having both I'll keep 'em.

Love it and I knew I would. I'm glad I went for the polar, I'm not big on racks and desktop gear anyway...

I've got a rev 2 & a P10(defacto rev 3 chip set).the differences are noticable , although Some is just due to mono vs Stereo. The rev 2 seems brighter and slightly buzzier. I don't prefer one over the other.

Thats a really sweet deal. Just shows how ignorant they are about musical equipment. I was in that guitar center last weekend with my friend (who was picking up a little phatty) and the guys in the pro audio dept. were talking about the prophet 5. They said it sat in the back room for a few months and nobody really messed with it. They were under the impression that it was broken. I told them that I had read this post a few weeks ago and that it was just the fuse. They were pissed to say the least haha.

It wasn't rocket science, they just had to look at the back of the thing. On the other hand I had no idea what was wrong with it. It did have some minor issues. I sent it in for repair and one of the voices was dying and some of the components related to the "record" funtion needed to be replaced. I also had it thoroughly cleaned and had the tape mod added. So t was a little more than the fuse, but not much... It was usable in the state it arrived but now it functions perfectly.

Kind of a funny reply, given that in your own online taste test 100% of the respondents correctly distinguished the Rev. 2 from the Rev. 3....
I meant that people treating the rev 2 as king is just kind of funny. Yeah they are slightly different, but it's also easier to tell when you do have two different models on a clip one on each side. If I played a clip of just one i bet most people wouldn't be able to distinguish one from the other.

I know I can't tell the difference without the A/B and even then only with patches that are trying to accentuate the differences.

GC is great for these kinds of deals. Congrats. I posted this somewhere else but I got my Andromeda from GC for $750 (used) with warranty.
