Yeah VERY trancey but not even very good at trance, just leaning that way and doing so poorly.
I have found that when it comes to gear, believe the hype.

Actually out of all the cheap "junk" I've sold over the years to make way for better gear the D110 was one of few I eventually missed and replaced. It's an absolute pig to use, no use on it's own and the U/I was designed by a mad man BUT, although many of the sounds available don't cut the mustard vs the D-50, some are absolute gems! The thing sounds quite weird at times too - all the more reason for spending £30 to own one again :D

Hmm I seem to remember there was only one patch worth using and that was some sort of Fairlight like choir. It wasn't so much signal to noise as noise to signal ratio too!

Roland Juno-D
A very boring and dull ROMpler, lacking the character of the great ROMpler's such as the M1, D and QS series. Not only that, it was increadibly limited in terms of editing and if you did not like the rather average sounds, you were more or less stuck with em. Sold mine within a few months of purchusing it, never looked back!

I got one recently and it's definitely a keeper. The main thing that struck me was the stereo structures, other synths of that era were pretty much mono with maybe a chorus slapped on the end to stereo-ize everything. I thought owning a K1r and D110 would be a bit of an overlap as they were competitors in their day but they're very complementary. The res filters have a nice plasticky sound, vaguely reminiscent of FM with the feedback turned up.

Shame about the interface though, it is indeed extremely tedious!

I think that's the patch they used on LFO-LFO -->
They had such a great bassline and then the stupid K-1 shows up.

I hated the Korg MS2000, couldn't connect with the Nord Lead 1... Soundart Chameleon stayed unused too. Roland VariOS was a real piece of c**p IMO.

Eventhough I like some stuff about my V-Synth I must say that I don't use it.... I am really not getting a turn-on by any other synthesizers than my Nord Modular G2 these days.

I really didnt like the korg dw8000 or the MKS70/jx8p/jx10

both of those sounded bad to my ears, even with the programmer i struggled to get some life out of the mks

I also second the novation supernova... horrid sound for a ridiculous price

i had a k station for a bit with the same sound, but for much cheaper, and that is the only time its sound felt warranted

the nord lead 2x was way too limited
No one cares, no one sympathizes,
so you just stay home and play synthesizers.

it brought me much joy at first, and i discovered arranging with first mutlitimbral unit i had etc... but in retrospective, from sound and flexibility angle, Emu Proteus 1 must have been the worst... no filter, no resonance, no fx, low bandwith.. no nuttin..

Would be helpful if people said WHY they thought these synths are so bad.
