The Jupiter-4 ensemble effect cetainly was nice, but the Juno-6/60 chorus was even more effective in terms of how it enhanced thier sound. I actually used my JP-4 without the chorus on much of the time as i love it's raw VCO output, especially on bass and arpeggio patches.

I have to say the Juno-6/60.

Definitely seems like we are heading in a very Roland direction here. I also forgot how much I like the CS-80's chorus though...

Juno 106. I assume it's the same as the 6/ 60? Is it also the same as the VP330?

The ARP chorus as found on the Omni and Quadra is hard to beat, the CS-80's is nice if noisy, and the Juno 106 has a great chorus.

Same basic circuit, I think. It might use different BBDs; I'd have to go look. But Roland used this same basic chorus circuit in a lot of things during that period, including some pedals and the JC guitar amps.

Hall Of Fame for chorus ensemble must be ELKA Synthex and Eminent Solina/310U

also Rolands like VP330, RS202/505, JX8/10/MKS70, Crumar Multiman, Rhapsody610 and Korg PE-2000

The original Poly 800 benefited greatly from it's built-in chorus. Most DCO synths have chorus as there is little motion to the sound without it. Besides the CS80 the CS70M is another example of a VCO synth with chorus. As choruses in general go, Roland made about the best there was in the late 70's to early 80's.
