I just placed my order for one of these. Looks pretty kool to me, I keep convincing myself that it´ll be a nice replacement for the MS 10 I sold a couple of years ago

. Apparently there´s going to be a few weeks before they are ready to ship their second production series. So in all breifness; anyone got one yet or any other opinions on it?
Thanks,
Mattio

it looks to be very cool. we've got an ms20 at the studio and i doubt it will do THAT sound but it has a certain raspyness from what i can hear from the few demos floating around.
btw ... nice name.

im also thinking bout getting one... though im sure it wont beat my ms10/20 combo

but it would for sure be a nice addition to complement those! more lfos and EGs...
would also be interested in some statements bout sound / build quality

Well... it's just an A-111-5 in a case with their midi module, so I would say the build quality will be good. I never had a problem with my Doepfer modules. May I suggest to anyone interested in the Dark Energy to not get it and instead get the module. There is a new MIDI interface module from doepfer that will be able to control up to 4 A-115's. THAT will be pretty awesome. Like a totally modular PerFourmer.

Dark Energy or Tom Oberheim neo-SEM? SEM or DE? Decisions, decisions....
s**t, I'll just buy both.

8) ....ok, so it arrived. Build quality is top notch. I haven´t played around with it enough yet ( as I also took delivery of an early 80´s Tascam M-35 with M-35 EX 8 channel expander today ), but soundwise it´s very nice. It has that nice raspiness I´ve been wanting since I let my MS 10 go and the LFO´s are sick with their slow, medium and fast settings. I am not going to compare it to anything but I´m liking it a lot really. Great filter and some semi modular options going that I didn´t get around to yet. All in all a great little noisemaker

Cool! Too bad they dont let you specify what kind of filter you can get. Like a "Wasp" filter edition etc. Congrats!

yeah, that would've been a great idea, but maybe too ambitious for doepfer

But otherwise, it's a cool looking box.
Unfortunately, with the imminent release of the new SEM, it's not quite as attractive: $200 more gets you a full patch panel, another oscillator and a multi-mode filter...

Looks like such a pretty and nice sounding instrument. DSI could take a few cues from the way this thing looks!
