I was in a freakout experimental rock band hugely inspired bny early pink floyd, gong, zappa & the mothers etc, and since we just played whatever we wanted, we always referred to our music as "Death Jazz", since anything can fit under the term Jazz, if you stretch it far enough... we god flamed all the time by whiny jazz musicians
