Here's where to get DX Manager, a DX7 (well, DX200 in my case!) programmer and patch manager that I use:

I bought a crappy little USB to MIDI cable and was gonna hook up to my PC laptop so I could save and modify the TX816. I was going to use FMAlive's package but never got it. I actually asked for it for my birthday, but my wife never gets me anything. She does let me buy thousands of bucks worth of gear though, so I can't complain.

I gotta get this manager. The TX816 is just sitting there like a glorified ROMpler. :!: When I got it I was thinking my DX7II was to be the editor. Surprise, surprise, surprise. Won't work. I need a 1st generation DX7 for that.

Thanks for reminding me Dano.

NP! I got the version of it that was out in 2003 and found it pretty easy to use. It's a super good guy who programmed it - He is very helpful about answering questions too.

I just re-read the original question and wanted to add that although the earlier version that I have was freeware (IIRC) there might be a nominal charge for the current version.

The other thing is that I'm not 100% sure about whether or not it with work with the Vista OS...possibly but you might want to verify.

$15 US. The price of lunch. Pretty cheap considering.

Yes the DX editor is even compatible with Vista and 7 now. No reason not to now. (flinging the double negatives like a 3rd grade English student!)

I just wish it was MacOSx compatible.

Dunno. My guess is the Win 7 compatibility gives it a chance. Write to the designer and ask.
