i managed to find three versions of the poly evolver

1. black panels, black knobs

2. wood panels, black knobs

3.wood panels, silver knobs with pointers

Image

i know that the evolvers developed an encoder fault and dave smith provided pot editions, but what's with the third one ?

I've never seen black sides on any Evolver keyboard, are you sure that's not a custom paint job or new sides?

I didn't know they made a pot edition either, I've only ever seen the regular model (number 2).

sorry, i made it unclear, by "the third one" i meant the one with wooden ends which is in the photo#2. i thought the original was #1, then came #2 and then the pot edition #3.

Photo #2 is the one with the endless encoders.

That is the only one I ever tried out and saw for sale before the PE was released. Like Wiglaf stated they might be custom ends or maybe they were early versions(prototype?) with black end caps.
