Imperial Distortion Blue Box: synth or test equipment?

Post by gleaning » Fri Mar 26, 2010 10:05 pm

i'm new here so hopefully this is the proper board for such a post.

since it's release i've been bewildered by what the piece of equipment is on the insert photo of Kevin Drumm's "Imperial Distortion." i've heard that it is an analog modular synth, if so, which one? i've speculated that it might be some type of test equipment, if so, which one? if anyone can help w/ this i would deeply appreciate a conclusion to this mystery, even thoughts about what it may be. it could be some type of custom setup he had made i.e. CM von Hausswolff's mystery box. i've included the photo, check it out, let me know ...

thanks
best

ps. anyone know what record that is on the floor w/ the face on the cover, it looks so familiar

Bradley Telcom "Blue Box", it's telecommunications test tone generator with banana jacks
