"Is that the Mini In you Avatar?"

Wow I love stories like this. You know even if you have to rebuild them it is nice when you are starting out at at almost free.

Yep same mini.... sold just about all the other ones as the profit was crazy. Sold the LM1 on ebay for about £1000 so not bad for a few £££ outlay. Wish i had kept that now though :(

I have had loads more items, hard to remember them all. Also got an akai AX80 for £10 - SCI multitrak £5 - Space echo £10 - Not a synth but found a vintage guitar effect called an Hornby Skewes Treble booster, this sold for over £1200 on ebay about 5 years ago, not bad as it was £2. Crazy as it was just a couple of resistors caps and transistors

I rarely buy new gear, but the best buy I ever made at full price was synthesizers.com
I highly recommend.
I got all the other stuff at bargain prices. Ehehehe!

I traded an excellent 808 I got for $540 back in '95 for an near mint EML in '96. It's my best buy because the good condition 101 I just bought a couple of weeks ago set me back $2280!!!

$1100 used Andy for sure. Simply an amazing, inspiring, beautiful instrument.

This cries out for the fully story! Apologies if you've posted it before, but I must know...

I've been looking for a CS5 for years now the loss was a big one.

Scored a CS-20M off Craigslist in Cincinnati this weekend for $10, blowing fuses.

Replaced a couple of capacitors and all's well. Best deal I ever got, but I'm not really a bargain hunter.

I just picked up an Access Indigo 2 for $350 this afternoon...I've not even played it yet aside from testing all the functions, buttons, etc. Seems like a good deal, right? I've had ZERO experience with Access, so I don't know any better I guess because I've never priced them at all.

It was brand new - apparently a guy bought it, lost his job around the same time, and dumped everything he owned off at this huge pawn shop - he did this Monday, they put the keyboard out this morning, and I happen to be staying out of town in the area so i stopped by to kill time this afternoon and saw it. looked fun, interesting - price was $499. I figured that wasn't too bad, but I knew they would come off a bit - and I happen to have 350 in cash on me so I said I'll drop it right now if I can walk out with the synth after I test, and they agreed.

Hopefully this thing is as fun as it looks! I can't really find much of anything about it online, and don't have the ability to hook it up till I get back home...damn hotel rooms not coming with mixers and monitors!

Best synth buy for me was the Roland V-Synth, not because it was cheap but because it turned out to be a great buy for me - 'cause I use it all the time ;)
