synth lead in human league's "fascination"

Post by colmon » Sat Apr 17, 2010 2:01 pm

one of the best synth leads ever imo. i'm sure someone here knows exactly where it came from? or can at least make a very well educated guess

it sounds a bit like Robert Fripp's (king crimson guitarist) sound from the 80's. maybe it's a guitar synth like the roland gr-someting . i dont know what Robert was using .

Yep, you're right about it being a Roland guitar synth, a GR-300 to be exact.

this song has a similar sound that reminds me of Fascination. I have no idea who this is, but it always plays where I work. Just thought I'd share.

Wow, cool! I've always thought it was some kind of sync lead or a nasty sound from the JP-4.

One of my favorite synth acts..they were thrilling live!

No sync lead on JP-4 as it is a single oscillator synth.

I know, I said sync lead or a Jp-4, sorry if I didn't make myself clear enough :)
