Hey Radek,

How does the prototype sound? Any possibility of some sound samples or youtube vid?

I could probably find a VCS3 for that.
Mr. D,

You could, my sarcasm was directed towards the ridiculous current prices from EMS and Rehberg. In their face, nobody should pay those kind of prices for synths that obviously aren't worth $468.00 per hour to build.

Did I say he was duping people? I just said it sounded like an unattractive deal to me.

Don't twist people's words, thank you.

Did you read what he said?
"I am hoping to be selling electronic component kit sets, these will comprise of all transistors, I.C.'s, resistors and capacitors, excluded are the very rare components i.e. 2C746's TAB101,MCF6070 and 1000 p.p.m. 1K resistors, these will be offered on a individual basis, as these are not strictly needed to build a VCS3 clone."

Well, that escaped me.

It was not posted on this thread though. If they are not needed then there obviously won't be a big problem.

Okay, I see what gave the "duping" impression. I originally wrote: "I hope the parts that aren't included are specified beforehand, so that the people that purchase the kit can check out beforehand whether they can get those things in the first place.". It should have said something like "... how hard getting those parts really is". Carry on.

So is this going to be more or less complicated than the Fuzzface clone I made 10 years ago? :D

Sounds cool for the electrical engineers out there but holy h**l - godspeed to any inexperienced project builders who tackle this thing!

it looks like a big project, casing, front panels, older parts. but for once i'm not stop in my decision because of "simple" pic programming. it's not a week-end project but it seems doable by some normal people that can take their time and don't mind if it takes more 4 weeks for the over-all project.

This does look really sick. Does anyone know if you can order kits yet?

WARNING: if this is your first synth project you're biting off more than you can chew. Start with an established and easier project: soundlab, x0xb0x, midibox SID. The community can walk you through most problems and it's small enough (time-wise and financially) compared to this that it's possible.

For all you guys who are ecstatic about this, save it. Derek already abandoned this project due to worry about copyright infringement.

Quoted email just recieved after back & forth Q&A's:

"Sorry, project abandoned, please follow this link for the reason.

http://electro-music.com/forum/viewtopi ... 241#293241

Best regards

Derek."

It will take alot of convincing to get him to reconsider, if he will.
