Re: Teenage Engineering OP-1 Synthesizer
Kinda cool but no midi, how can I sync it to anything? Minijack out? Toy speakers? Hope it doesn't cost more than 200€.

According to their website it has USB, minijack input, minijack output. No mention of midi.

Perhaps the USB includes midi over USB?Barfunkel wrote:According to their website it has USB, minijack input, minijack output. No mention of midi.

Re: Teenage Engineering OP-1 Synthesizer
Regardless of it looking like a toy it seems like a really cool piece of gear to me. Maybe im just attracted to useless stuff, but if they put a decent price tag on it id be very interested..

TE has announced beta testing of the OP-1 is finally starting, price is still 799 USD or Euro (too high I think, we'll see).
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

Re: Teenage Engineering OP-1 Synthesizer
does anybody actually want an instrument anymore?
or do people just want boxes that make sounds that are played by another box that makes sounds but has these mystical black and white rectangles on them?
i think this looks awesome. its pretty darn original and looks like it could be a really really fun way to make some music.

+1. I was going to post the same thing, right down to the smiley at the end....Stab Frenzy wrote:Or you actually play it.cartesia wrote:in other words useless with other equipment unless you're lugging a computer around with it
It is certainly very possible to use a piece of gear that does not have MIDI. I do it all the time and it's very satisfying.

Re: Teenage Engineering OP-1 Synthesizer
Um guys, the thing isn't big or thick enough to even fit a midi jack on there.
