I dropped a pick in my synth

Post by Jabberwalky » Fri Jul 02, 2010 2:59 am

I went to throw my pick on the desk, and it flew right beneath the keys of my Micron. I could hear it rattling inside the case so had to open it up. Much to my suprise, there was another pick inside as well! It wasn't mine so whoever owned the Micron previously did the same exact thing!

What strange objects have you dropped into your synths?

We had a pen roll under the keys of our YC-25D a few years ago, it's still there.

Also, a tiny little vinegar fly was attracted to the blue backlight of my MEK display and somehow got in there. I flew around for a couple of days and then died.

I've posted this before but my Yamaha CS-50 had a penny rattling around inside for the first 20 years I owned it.

I got dead roaches, mouse s**t, a small chrysalis and ghost turds out of my CS-5, and that was only removing the side panels. :?

Oh, that's nothing. My Polysix has the bottom cover held on with drilled-out pennies replacing the washers!

I had that happen with an AS/IS SQ-80 deal. The seller claimed that it would power up, but that it would only sustain low notes. After a few days of being frustrated that it wouldn't calibrate; I shook it & the pick fell out of the keybed. It was a homemade pick. I also found some change inside.

I once lent a good friend my Roland D-20. The time he had it it served mostly as a clothesrack and his girlfriend dropped two metal hairpins inside it... :?

Really not what I expected.

When I lived in a low-rent townehouse while going to school I found a reed organ in the trash. I dragged it to my unit and found a bunch of the notes stuck "on". Taking it apart I found yugioh (sp?) cards and a snoop dogg cd :D were holding the notes down ;D

Given that laptops classify as synths these days, once I had mushroom soup coming out from beneath the touch pad. The next day after dinner.

f**k Opossels. they love the warm power supplies of vintage analogs and made a nest inside mine. Must get rid of them, but I'm too lazy to open the Akai AX60...
