Most popular synth between VSE members??

Post by balma » Thu Jul 22, 2010 8:20 pm

 just wondering wich is the emblematic synth for this forum. Say something bad about it and you'll be expelled.

pretty much everyone on this board has a CS-80 so i think that would be it. most of us have two or three - often collecting dust in a closet. the CS-80 really seems to define the VSE forum imo.

This is true...I have one in each bathroom, bedroom, kitchen, and deck outside.....never know when you'll need it.

I also have a TB303 currently being used as a doorstop. I can't say anyone would be shunned for disapproving of any classic synths here, so long as good forum behavior prevails. Everybody's got an opinion, just don't rub it in.

That said, I do occasionally get sour grapes syndrome from seeing so many classic synths I will never be able to play, much less afford. Better to be pragmatic and get the most out of the tools you have, and dream of the classics to inspire you, I say.
I am no longer in pursuit of vintage synths. The generally absurd inflation from demand versus practical use and maintenance costs is no longer viable. The internet has suffocated and vanquished yet another wonderful hobby. Too bad.

I think you could throw a rock here and 90% probabilities will hit somebody with a Roland Juno or a Korg Eectribe.
At least is not so "polarized" like other old forums like futureproducers. That's where the MPC reigns forever....

I don't know if I've ever seen anybody here make a bad remark about the ARP 2600. It's like the holy grail around here.

Should be a requisite to show the serial number of your microkorg to subscribe to the forums. And we owe the prices fluctuation on Ebay auctions.

I'm not done with the command station popularity, need to push further. Need to post 100 tutorial videos, more tips, etc, for my favorite digital synth ever ever! .

Now seriously, I think the Yamaha ANX1 is the king here.

It's not because so few have actually used it. It damn well should be.

Absolutely nothing they are great hardware samplers indeed! But the 99% of their owners don't know it yet

I bought an ESQ-1 essentially because of all the good things people say about it on Vintagesynth.
