Has the Cirklon started shipping yet?
I'm wondering if there is a final price available...

Re: Sequentix Cirklon pre-order!
Supposedly it has. A few people on the AH mailing list have mentioned seeing people with them at a recent synth meetup, and there's at least one video on YouTube that doesn't appear to be from Colin Fraser or Sequentix showing off the Cirklon. The Sequentix website hasn't got a list price up, but there's still plenty of people on the waiting list who won't be able to get their Cirklon from the first batch, so there will be a bit of a wait anyhow. I too would be interested in knowing the final price, especially with the break-out CV box, but there is an alternative now -- if you're handy with a soldering iron. MIDIbox SEQ V4 sports both MIDI and CV/Gate outputs. Unfortunately I believe this project is a little beyond my skills, otherwise I'd definitely go for it.kuroichi wrote:Has the Cirklon started shipping yet?

Re: Sequentix Cirklon pre-order!
That Youtube video is from Paul Nagle, a P3 owner who wrote the review of said item for Sound on Sound. He and a couple of other people that Colin knows are doing some beta testing of the Cirklon. So yes, there are units "in the wild," but nothing that anyone can actually buy.
More than likely the official release won't be until springtime next year.

Re: Sequentix Cirklon pre-order!
Just thought I'd update this.
Colin is having supply issues with the knobs he's using. Units are being put together, but very slowly. He said there are more pre-orders than he really expected, so it's still going to be a bit of a wait.
However, the analogue bits are now finalised. 16 CV outs, 8 configurable gate out/CV ins.
He mentions all this in an update here: http://www.sequentix.com/cirklon.htm

You know how I said springtime?
Production is finally getting underway. Pre-orderers, check your e-mails.
Non-pre-ordererers, you wanted pricing? Here you go:
Basic model: £999
With CV I/O: £1199
More than the P3, but it's safe to say the Cirklon is much improved.

I watched those demos yesterday and must say I was impressed in a major way...

Re: Sequentix Cirklon pre-order!
Just watching these demos. So well done. I'm impressed with all the thoughtful little features they crammed into it. I also like the way the multi-function encoders were implemented, specifically the larger increment mode when you press+turn, and also the auto-interpolation feature in tutorial 3 part 2 @3:00. Pretty cool.
I wish there were tutorials like this for the E-mu Command Station, which is equally rich in features.

Re: Sequentix Cirklon pre-order!
Videos are great - was wondering about this earlier and where it was currently at.
Re: Sequentix Cirklon pre-order!
I've got one on the way! ! ! ! ! ! ! Ive had my $$ aisde for this for about a year, I can;'t wait ! AAAAAHhhh!!! hahaha
I miss my P3 and this looks just awesome. Drum grid mode, direct analog outs, each MIDI output with its own pin on the micro, so it's as tight as can be..
anyway...

I got this in an e-mail from Sequentix yesterday: (it's an except)
"I'm Barbara Fraser, Colin's wife, and I will be dealing with customer
enquiries and handling the order-processing side of the business.
I've compiled a pre-order list of customers who have emailed to indicate
they would like to purchase a Cirklon when it becomes available.
We will begin taking payments for orders at the start of March 2011, with
deliveries to customers beginning around 6 weeks later, and working our way
through the list despatching from there."

Re: Sequentix Cirklon pre-order!
Just paid for my Cirklon with CV I/O today. Looks like its # 25.
It's going to be an exciting 2 months
(had to sell my Doepfer MAQ 16/3 to get the money , so my modular is currently sequencerless).
Here's where they stand as of today:
"I'm pleased to report that manufacture of the first production run is now
underway. The circuit boards are being manufactured and populated by a small
specialist business in Glasgow - Colin visited their production unit last
week and saw the Cirklon circuit boards in production
The Cirklon metal case enclosures are also being manufactured by a Scottish
company who are based on the coast of the Firth of Clyde. Working with local
companies (instead of ordering from China) allows Colin to work closely with
his suppliers regarding the detailing of production and quality control, and
also support Scottish manufacturing sector jobs. "

those demo vids are very impressive. that looks to be an awesome sequencer and it sounds like the timing is rock solid.
