So you've finished whitening the keys and you're finally playing with it now? Just ribbin' ya!

How'd the whitening turn out? How do you dig the Ion?

lol! The only time I stopped playing with it honestly, was when the keys were off.

Whitening didn't do too much, but it's not a big deal. It's a spectacular instrument. It is an individual. It's one of the first VA's I've used that doesn't feel like it's trying to impress anyone. It feels like it was designed by people who care about making a great instrument that normal people can afford.

I might do a full review here eventually. It's worth talking about.

Right on, dude! It is indeed a gooder. You been playing it through your Wedge? (I believe I recall you saying you had one). I've got the same combo and it's hella-fun. Actually, it's beyond me why Alesis didn't throw the Wedge chip into the Ion! I figure they could've won over more of the Lead/Virus/Q crew if the Ion had better effects. I guess they figured that out by the time they made the Micron (though I've never actually checked out the improved effects in the Micron for myself).

You should post some of your Ion tunes! 8-)

I've been using the effects in my multimix 8, but I plan on hanging on to the wedge.

I think I'm gonna start a new thread about the Ion now and save a paragraph here haha

Nord Modular......

The synth on the MPC5000, I am not calling it deep, but I have been enjoying learning how to program it.

Though technically a rompler, and my first intro to VAST; its bananas how deep the PC3 is, even just the effects section alone.

The first synth I ever really played with, back in college. Didn't have a clue what I was doing, either. I'm gonna have to get me one eventually.

EDIT To answer the original question, not technically a synth, but my ASR-88 is pretty damn deep, 367 page user manual and all.

ESQ-1 out of what I have as far as versatility and modulation options.

However, I think the CZ-5000 is the 'deepest' as far as most mind boggling. I dunno, I've come up with some interesting results with 8-stage envelopes, but I still don't really understand it past trial and error. Most good results are stumbled upon, and when I drive towards a deliberate idea it never seems to work out. I only really keep it because it's unique in that way, the crazy envelopes. Doesn't really get played much though, sadly.

Wish I had a g2/g2x. =(

Actually, I believe that's an Ion/Micron engine without the large mod matrix.
