Actually, I believe it's the VA synth from the Alesis Fusion - which sounds and is quite different than the ion/micron/miniak (but is still quite deep!).

Yep you're quite right! I remember now.

All my synths are pretty "deep"... A6, D-550, TX802... and the Motif XS. ;)

I guess I don't tend to bother with simpler synths... at least in my current setup.

Yup, that's correct... It's good and very flexible but sounds a tad brittle imo... It's a shame the filters aren't as good as they could/should be... They have resonance but don't actually resonate.

Currently, it's definitely the M3. So much to discover, so little time, just wish it had wave sequencing.

But overall, the TS10.

Deepest Softsynth: A toss up between NI Reaktor and Absynth. Steep learning curve. Endless possibilities. A tweakfest.

Deepest Hardware: Oberheim OB-Mx and Waldorf Microwave XTk. (excluding, obviously anything modular)

I'm impressed by the level of depth and modulation possibilities on the OB-Mx... It's intense. The other possibility that I have played with is the Kawai K5000s (additive)...

Hardware: PolyEvolver. (buy the editor from Suntower if you want to get into the sequencer. I can't imagine anyone doing very much manually with the sequencer.)

Software: Reaktor. I could spend decades exploring the depths.

Sequential Prophet VS
Yamaha DX7IID
Casio CZ1 (May start programming this again)
Kawai K5000s
Roland SH32
Yamaha AN1x

Synths I haven't tried yet but are in my setup: -

Novation Supernova II
Access Virus Classic
Creamware MiniMax

I'm another vote for the Virus Indigo.

Not that I've gone through many synths in my day...

The Korg Z1. No matter how much you dig into it, it always seem to have more.
