So far it's the Korg Karma because i try to program it without a computer (in fact I don't use a computer to program anything) and I've barely scratched the surface.

The Yamaha CS 40m is pretty deep too.

Probably my Novation X-station61. It doesn't do drums, doesn't have a onboard sequencer, but it's got some juicy effects, can be used for 2 channels of audio inputs, it's got a little FM in it, and it does Bass, strings, organs, electric pianos, and other sounds....I love the 3 different LFO's to play with, the filters are wicked, and the apreggator has about 6 different modes. Needless to say, I can easily get as deep as I want with this synth. I also have an Alesis S4+, but I haven't scratched the surface with that, and it's mainly because it's lcd screen has some pixels that burned out. I need to somehow replace the lcd, but have been too busy to look into it. (Alesis ignored me when I asked about it) I actually haven't used it in months.

No doubt it was the Nord Modular G2X.

Probably only a Kyma system or some other tool in which you can program the architecture of your synth can beat it.

Still, on the G2X (and the original Nord Modular) you have a huge amount of modules you can patch as you want as long as you have enough DSP Power for it...

The e-mu command station. I bought it just for its sequencer, but the synth engine is a very deep rompler. I have not dug in at all. Way to much menu diving or the required use of a computer. Maybe some day, but I'm having way to much fun programming multiple shallow synths. I like to add complexity using outboard effects and hand-on-knob modulation.

Using my Mono/Poly with my Moogerfoogers and VC sampler is deep *and* hands on.

In one box, though, its the DX7 hands down
