In the zip file you will find both .d-50 and sysex versions, there are also a little bonus bank with some fx patches that didn't make the cut. There is a patch navigation chart you can print out, and the shareware version of SysexD50 -a great librarian, programmer and sysex tool for the D-50. You need it if you want to use the .d50 files. Be sure to set transfer setting to "one-way" in the preferences.

This bank will also probably be available over at http://bobbyblues.recup.ch/roland_d-50/ ... tches.html later, as this thread will surely die and fall from attention.
You know what the hardest part of this whole ordeal was? Coming up with the damn patch names!

Enjoy the sounds!

I have soon finished my all-new and original D-50 patchbank. 64 new patches, therein a lot of analog-inspired sounds. This bank is the result of countless hours of menu-diving the D-50. In short they are a collection of what I consider to be my best programs. There are some nice splits/combos in there too, but all sounds in the demo are single patches.
Take a listen:
All sounds are dry, without using the D-50s effect section. Notable exeptions are some A/B examples (like the Vangelis type sounds) and some leads where you obviously can hear delay. But 95% are dry.
Edit: I should point out that I turned off the effects on most of the sounds for the demo just to show that they sound good dry. The programs in the bank usually have a tiny touch of reverb just to make them that little more complete and nice. There are some jokers out there claiming that the D-50 is a mish-mash of bad samples and envelopes that need big reverb to sound remotely decent - can you believe it?
