It's my favourite D-50 soundbank and I always wanted to make a song with Digital Dreams only. I've finished it. It ended up having some drums and vocals but there are something like 13 tracks of my D-50 loaded with Digital Dreams so it's still very Digital Dreams oriented !

The song is here : http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?di13skjbpqs10r0

Hope you like it. And again : thank you very much, your work is really, really, really appreciated !
WOW!

This was exactly what I was hoping for, someone to make good use of the sounds! Great song! I love the melody, vocals, everything! (: Thanks a lot for the nice words, and for sharing your song with me. Posts like that really makes the effort worth while!

:-D :-D :-D

I don't know if it works with the VariOS, though.

I could write the link where I can download these files? thanks

Thanks for the kind words D-Collector, I'm so glad (and proud!) you liked it. I'm sure there are tons of people that use Digital Dreams in their songs. It's such a great bank you could sell it for $50 (but please don't do that  )

Sure, you can download it here : http://www.d50librarian.co.uk It works in Win XP, Vista and Seven. It don't think it works on Mac or Linux because it needs the .Net Framework to be installed.

BTW there's another awesome editor for the D-50 : Gest D-50. It's also free but : 1) you need to register on their site to download it, 2) the interface is mostly in french and 3) I'm not sure if it works on Win Seven (XP is ok). But it's really great ! The same guy has also developped a D-50 VST that can read sysex files (!) but I've not tested it yet.

But without a D50 in the flesh, I can not play and nothing works, right?

Yeah, you'd need the real thing. There's likely not going to be an actual D-50 or JD-800 VSTi anytime soon, as Roland still controls the rights to those synths. And I could only imagine how much they'd want, should they even decide to license them out.

What kind of Sysex transfer program do you guys recommend to load these sounds onto the D-50?

Yeah SysexD50 is great, I used it a lot. I now use D-50 Librarian because I love its editors and I manage my sysex collection with it. For transferring sysex files with D-50 Librarian, you must increase the delay to 100ms. I think it's set to 25ms by default witch is too fast and causes communication errors (at least on my setup).

Can I load each sound separately or do I have to load them bank by bank?

When you highlight a single sound in the bank overview in sysexd50, it automaticly loads it into D-50s temp memory which you can then save.
