I've spent ages searching for ESQ1 sites and found all the obvious ones out there but I stumbled upon this one the other day and it's fantastic. Very easy to understand and even offers extra information than I had already found.

Sorry if you all know about it but I just had to share it!

no probs, it was a totally accidental find. I've spent so many hours trying to find as much info about the esq1 as I can.

Although I do have the manual I find it a bit tricky to learn from so having the interactivity of the website is a real help.

I will be getting all up in my esq and programming the s**t out of it now!

Thanks for the link I grabed the VST and run in it the latest VFX ( this one works for me on OSX finnaly :D ) and now I think I have to have an ESQ1/M?Or/SQ80 as if my shopping list were not long enough

On a somewhat related note seams to be a lot of chatter of Ensoniq coming back form the dead in 2011 ?
Grain of salt of couse it all steams from a Wiki post on supposedly belonging to a creative ip + a FaceBook page . A thread over a GS about it too . Well I would like a Fizmo VST how about you ?

Thanks for the link!

And yeah I read about Ensoniq coming back too, but the line about it says with a "special team of designers and youth marketers", so I'm guessing if it does come back as a brand that produces hardware, I'm thinking it's going to be making entry-level Korg-esque type stuff to compete with the market for people with $300 in their pocket. Not that that's a bad thing - I liked my MicroKorg, KP3, and the monotron is just awesome - but my point is that I doubt we'll see Ensoniq back to making full featured products that make professionals drool.

Brilliant website. The explanation of the envelopes has me second-guessing if I really want to let my ESQ-1 go.

It's too bad this device was never mass-produced...

wow!

but presumably you could use a generic midi controller like the behringer one?

T'would take a s**t-load of programming. Plus, to match that monster knob-for-knob would require the use of two presets on the BCR, as there are 32 knobs, and the top row of encoders can have 4 groups per preset. Other than the tedium involved, though, I don't see why it couldn't be done.

wow...had no idea that existed! But really, is it necessary? Aside from the fact that that thing would always cost more than an SQ itself, programming the ESQ1/80 really is a breeze... It would probably take as long to find each knob as it would to just push a button.
