I'm about $6k deep in my modular, does that count? Otherwise my V-Synth was $2.4k new.

Spectralis2. A little over $2500 CAD brandnew. Quite the monosynth in that machine.

2 Weeks of learning it, and Im starting to build a working speed with it... Good fun.

The Prophet VS, for 12500 SEK, a little over £1000.

The P5 wasn't exactly cheap either, but I got it in a trade...

My Moog Voyager was by far my most expensive synth at $1,500. But at that price, it was still quite a steal. I talked the music store down $200 because one key wasn't functioning - but once I got home with it it was fine and hasn't failed since. Score!

I purchased a brand new Korg Z1 ten plus years ago at my local music store for $1600. It had the 18 voice expansion board already installed when I bought it. I've babied the Z1 ever since. This is one synth that I will never sell. I've seen them occasionally in my area on Craigslist in the $450-$750 range. I've been tempted to buy one of these used Z1s and have two. It really is a great sounding machine, and it's great for creating very unique sounds. The Z1 can make sounds like no other synth. The Z1 arpeggiator is fantastic, and I can do some crazy stuff via the XY pad. Although many say that the Z1 sounds digital (which is often equated with thin sounding), I can get my Z1 to sound phat phat phat.

1985 i paid $1000 for a Chroma Polaris. A ton of money for a poor guy making $6 an hr. Got it at the music store I worked for. Didn't help my feelings when two months later Fender ceased production and really lowered the price and had I got it then, would have only paid $500.
And it sits in my closet now with a severe membrane problem that will never get fixed.
sigh...

Alesis Andromeda (new) a few months before they ceased production. Cost almost as much as all my other synths combined... But it was well worth it.

If we're strict about what we call a 'synth', it's the Moog LP.
If not, it's the Nord Electro 3.
