Telex Gear List?

Post by moogplayer » Mon Jan 03, 2011 10:43 pm

Anyone have an idea what equipment Telex used on their first two albums (1979-80)? Some fun stuff going on those releases (St Tropez and Neurovision). Thanks

It's a moog modular only.

(a Mooog III p, to be precise)

Moog modular, Two Polymoogs, Minimoog and something like a Micromoog. Although you know they aren't playing them as he's doing chords on the micro. But still gives a good idea of whats probably on the albums.

haha yeah I've seen that video.

drum machines employed are of particular interest. I've never seen an equipment list online for those albums...

Afaik Dan Lacksman used the following gear on Telex' first two albums:

MOOG III P
MULTIMOOG
MICROMOOG
Minimoog (unsure)
OBERHEIM OB-X (I'm almost sure it was used on 1980's Neurovision, but not on the first album)
POLYMOOG
Roland CR-78
SENNHEISER VSM201

Lacksman also had an EMS VCS3, which was his first synth, but I'm not sure if it saw any
use on these two records.

Here's a promo video made for the Eurovision previews:

Note the Moog IIIP, OB-X and Sennheiser vocoder.....
