That is NOT helping me to avoid dropping 2 grand on this...

I know the feeling. I put it off as long as I could, telling myself it sounded thin, was too limited, etc. Then I got my hands on one and it was all over. Sigh ... The gear budget for this quarter is shot!

I'll probably be selling some guitar gear that hasn't been getting use so I can get one and try it.
Hopefully I can decide to keep either the Tempest OR my Poly-Evolver...We shall see...

Just suppose you decided to keep them both (and interconnect them).

For those still on the fence, or wanting to see what this thing can do. Many things remain to be implemented still, but each week a beta OS is furthered along, so I'm sure it will be soon, i.e. external sequencing, arpeggiator, deeper midi.

Not my style but, I recognize this kid is killing it!

I'm still holding out for the upgrades which include odd time signatures, which could take this instrument beyond the usual drum&bass/sequencer stage.

Looks like that's what I'm doing. Got my Tempest a few weeks ago and really love it. But it doesnt cover the same territory as the Evolver. I was under the impression that all of the Evolver waves would be in the Tempest but it's just a selection of the more percussive VS waves.

So, this WOULD be the ideal machine with which to try to re-create the accompaniment from a song such as this one - as an example.

mine should be delivered in the next couple of days, those last two vids have made me even more excited,
hadnt seen much in the way of demos that show it used for melodic synth lines...now I see it's more than capable (as i suspected) :D

This one is nice, too:

Kind of traditional (?) sounding compared to what else has been posted.

I put together a quick little video earlier tonight. Nowhere near as exciting as these two in terms of performance (actually, quite a poor performance - I suck at it), but it should help show the smoother, funkier, harmonic and melodic side of the Tempest.

nice one!
That's basically how I plan to use my tempest too, plus a bit of glitchy beat mangling.

UPS just changed my 'expected delivery' date to Wednesday.. GAH!
