ESQ-1 sysex dump - how to?

Post by jeeroj » Wed Mar 02, 2011 12:54 pm

Hey all,

I want to dump all the song information from my ESQ-1 onto my pc.

Can anyone give me a real dummies guide on how to do this? I have a midi interface which I can hook up. Do I need a program to do perform a sysex dump or could I use cubase?

thanks in advance :)

Cubase will work fine . Also I use the sq8l as a editor librarian

http://www.synthmania.com/Ensoniq%20ESQ ... manual.pdf

Pages 182-183 should have the information to get you going. The manual instructions are for transferring to another ESQ but if you want to send SYSEX to a utility (I use Bohme's SendSX.) then it should work because I've done it several times with my ESQ-M dumping to Bohme's SendSX.

Don't forget to switch on the ability to send sysex in menu of your esq. for dumping I do use midiquest.
