Just got my first synths. I'm really into psychedelic, lo-fi, ambient-noise i.e. Oneohtrix Point Never, Emeralds, Dolphins Into The Future etc...

I got a Juno-60, Jx-3P, and a dark energy. I got a guitar with an e-bow plus s**t loads of pedals, too.
Just wanted to share my joy.

The guy who I bought the juno-60 from said he will send me the link to the bank presets for the juno. I'm sure this is an easy process, yeah? i.e. soundcard output to load in the juno, hit play and then hit load on the juno. I heard it's a pain in terms of getting the right volume?

It's not hard. Follow the instructions in the manual and you'll be fine.

My first real synth was a Juno 6, twenty years ago now... still got it. I upgraded to a Juno 60 in '95, and I've still got that too. It's a great sounding synth and has always proved useful and an absolute pleasure to play. Get that arpeggiator running through a delay pedal and you're away.

At the time I got the 6, I was GASing for a Yamaha SY-22 - they were about £550 or £600 I think. The Juno turned up on the college notice board for £120 and I took a gamble. Never looked back. Never got an SY-22 either... one day maybe.

My dad bought me a Casio SK1 when I was around 9 years old. Around 14, I bought a Yamaha PSS-795.

But my first analog synth was a Minikorg 700, closely followed by a Roland Juno-6. In someways, I feel like the Juno-6 is my first real synth, the one that really got me into synthesis.

Alesis micron, what a mistake, I should have gotten a used electribe ea1. Also good choice on picking synths that will teach you signal flow, rather than tedious menu diving.

Spent a summer mowing yards to buy a Casio HT-700 for $350ish back in 1987. Sold it a year later to a classmate to fund an Akai AX60.

Roland RS-70 for me, great machine to start on and learnt a lot on that thing - I don't use it now though, but I can't bring myself to sell it.

My first real synth was a V-Synth - and I still use it more than an other piece of gear I own

Sounds like a solid setup for whatever type of music you'd want to make,... Enjoy man! get a decent mixer with more channels than you think you'll need too..

I started similarly
SK1 and multi effect pedal, then a Juno 6, then a 707, then circuit bent the SK-1, then built Gene Stopp's ASM-1, all within 2 years, 96-97.. that was my start.. and I could go on forever.. Still have the Juno, SK1 and the ASM-1.

Who can name their entire gear list? from first keyboard/synth/drummachine whatever to current setup?

I can't be the only nut who has a log. I have a list that I mostly put together for an idea of how much I've spent on studio gear over the years. When you compare the money going in to the money coming in, it's pretty insane in the early years. Then you compare that to your total yearly earnings and see the wacky percentage.

Ramen Soup, peanut better and jelly...tuna sammiches ....all to get another (redundant) synth.

My first synth was a Yamaha SHS-10. Ok, so it was presets only, but it was still FM. Not that I knew what that meant at 7 years old. I still have it.

First real synth was a Moog Rogue. I had no idea what I was buying, but it turned out to be a great first synth to learn on. I got lucky.

I got my next synth in 1988... a brand new Ensoniq ESQ-1.
I got a Roland S-10 in 1991.

In 1994, I got a Wurlitzer 140A.

In 2001, I got a Micromoog.
In 2002, I got a Sonic Six.
