there is a chroma polaris or something in Masters Of The Universe
I've spotted a few in That 70s show
Korg Poly 800 in My Step Mother Is An Alien

I've noticed so goddamned many. My wife hates watching TV with me because I'll pause and rewind to see what it was I just spotted.

Roland CR-8000 is well suited in "Revenge of the Nerds."

Yes, this has already been done...but what the heck!

Lee Curreri/FAME immediately comes to mind when I see a thread about synths in movies.

Image
This pic shows the synth-setup he used in the movie (1980): Minimoog, ARP 2600 and Odyssey.

In the first episode of the TV-series (Metamorphosis, US air date: jan 1982) "Bruno" can be seen with a minimoog,
a couple of Polymoogs, a hohner clavinet, Rhodes, Crumar stringman and what looks like a Solina string ensemble (ontop of Rhodes).

(@8:36)

From the next episodes onwards the Bruno character plays only Yamaha equipment. Yamaha donated their
equipment to the show for promotional purposes.

A video clip from the episode Teachers (US air date: Oct 1982):
spotted instruments: Yamaha SK-20, CP-35 ep, CS-70M, CP-70 ep, CS-80 and Linn LM-1.

After the sponsorship deal with Yamaha came to an end, Roland synths started appearing on the show for a while.

From the episode Gonna learn how to fly (US air date: oct 1983):
spotted instruments: Roland Jupiter-8 & Juno-60
"The (Yamaha) CS-80 is a step ahead in keyboard control, and a generation behind in digital control" -- Dan Wyman, Jan 1979

I do not have a pic but in the Tribe Called Quest documentary there is a Roland Jupiter 8 standing on its side in the corner being neglected.

Mick Jagger with Moog IIIP in the movie "Performance" (movie filmed in '68 but not released until 1970).
Beaver & Krause operated the Moog modular for the soundtrack.

Jagger's Moog also showed up in Mario Schifano's documentary "Umano Non Umano" (1969):

The actual Moog featured in the above clips was later sold to Christopher Franke of Tangerine Dream (in 1973 I think).

IIRC, there's also a Mellotron MkII in the room (maybe the one used on 2,000 Light Years From Home?)

I think I remember reading that in Bernie Krause's biography, and that Franke paid a LOT for it.

I don't have any footage to point to, but the 1991 Japanese sci fi film Zeiram has a strange use of musical gear. The Earth base of Iria, an alien bounty hunter who comes to Earth to hunt down the title monster, includes severa pieces of circa 1990 Roland gear. I seem to remember there being an A80 and a R8 visible, and no doubt other things can be seen. (There was a later spin off anime, so don't get confused if you go looking for this one.)
