Steve Moore did use a MFB-502 and a drumtraks on Zombi's most recent album "Escape Velocity" (2011) so who knows...

I asked him on Soundcloud; he used a DMX on that album, with some MFB522 here and there. Awesome album BTW! The title track is almost too good! 8-) I own 2 vinyl; Star Vehicle, and the new split form Moore and Paterra, Brainstorm. I still don't have a record player though

Speaking of Kraftwerk, I f**k love the Showroom Dummies drumline. Def one of my favorites. It's not really all that complicated, but it does set a mood for me that I enjoy. Def gets me in front of one of my drum machines, and I start fooling around with different beats.

BTW this thread is awesome.

Wrong. ;) It was a Linn LM-1 Drum Computer. The later LinnDrum was the LM-2.

Not the Drumulator. The main drum and percussion sounds are LinnDrum sounds, including the triangle and "temple bell" sounds.

Later in the song, after the instrumental bridge, real live drums are overdubbed on top of the sequenced LinnDrum sounds.

I like the drum pattern on Oh Yeah by Yello just for its pure mid-80s'ness, especially the toms! Oh, and Two Tribes by Frankie Goes To Hollywood!

some great examples in this thread!

when i think about great drum patterns/programming the following always comes into my mind:

Amon Tobin - Sordid
