The Synth Gods do not want me to have a Korg DW8000.

1) Bought one on ebay, it came infested with roaches. yup nasty. Plus it had dead voices, damaged insides
2) Drove 1 hour to yard sale to get one for $50 & i arrived early only to find a punk band clearing the guy out of all he had, no DW for me.
3) Last try, grabbed one on ebay, got it. Worked for 5 minutes, then Zap, it went scatterbrains. Returned for full refund.

Anyone else have a bad luck synth?

Mine?

Korg Mono/Poly. Seems like the synth I keep getting ripped off trying to obtain. They should have named the synth "unobtanium".

First try, the guy who was selling was being a painful retard, tried jacking the price up on me. I walked.
Second try, a dude on craigslist with a cheap one, that appeared to be in nice shape, but his grammar sucked and he couldn't tell me anything about it. Scam. Goddamn Gypsies.
Third try, guy was totally on board, up front, everything looked and appeared legit, even got requested photos sent, sent the dude funds, guy drops off the face of the earth.

edit: Abandon all hope, ye who enter here..

Juno 60. But that's only because I had a reasonable price in mind and people are retarded.

System 100 mixer for me, had the model 101 and wanted one to go with it, searched and searched for almost two years, missed one on ebay, so close to buying one privately and the guy sold it on ebay, and third a store in Germany posted a classified ad for one for 700 euros and when I replied he then wanted 1000... for a freaking mixer :?

Now I have recently just purchased a beautiful system. Mint condition, all the accessories patch notes all the impossible to find manuals cables etc etc, EXCEPT!!! You guessed it. That damn mixer...

ARP2600 - 10 years ago, I saw one in the local classifieds. I talked to the owner and found that he sold it to a local music store. They had it, but kept giving me the run-around for a month. I finally went in to offer what ever it took to buy it, but the sales guy told me he had just sold it to someone else. I almost threw up.

Now, they are way out of my financial reach.

Korg MS-20

About 12 years ago, there was a local guy selling 3 of them, 500$ each (plus a Mellotron and a Jupiter 6). The price was fair and I was very interested, but he insisted to sell them alltogether (!!!). I stayed about 40 minutes at his place and he has never accepted. I even tried to sell one online in order to get the money to buy them all... but he sold it soon after to some synth shop.

Last year, there was a guy selling one at a good price on Craiglist NYC. But he insisted on local pickup. Soon after, there was a guy in Montréal selling one. I was decided to buy, but then he relasised that a friend of him was interested. I know a guy living in Japan who could find one... but again ; too expensive.

With the hype surrounding this synth, there's no way I could find one at a decent price. :?

My Oberheim Matrix 6r. Every time I think I have that thing squared away it starts rebooting randomly again. In fact I've had it run perfectly for an entire month, with continuous daily use, then the day I go to list it on eBay BOOM random reboots. It's like the monkey's paw synth I can't get rid of. I've rebuilt the power supply, reseated every chip in the thing, cleaned every contact.

I wish it were gone from my life.

I think for me it was the Matrix 6R also. I got one in an aution - got it here - auditioned the presets and found something weird on one of the voices..but then it was different voices..but only particular notes. took hours to understand exactly how to reproduce the fault - and then it took 2 techs ages to try and work it out - which despite almost rebuilding it they never did.

Luckily I got my money back but it was frustrating.
