All roughly in chronological order of discovery, sticking to the ones that have stuck with me.

Synth bidness:
- video game music (Sonic 3, Pokemon Red etc)
- Parliament-Funkadelic
- TaQ Sakakibara (my first introduction to electronic music, thanks to DDR hahaha - picks up around the 2:00 mark)
- Daft Punk
- Yasutaka Nakata (Capsule, Perfume)
- this video of Hiromi Uehara:
- Fred Falke/Alan Braxe
- MSTRKRFT
- Cherryboy Function
- Jeff Mills

Not explicitly synth-related:
- The Rolling Stones
- Led Zeppelin
- Early AC/DC
- Meshuggah
- Opeth
- Soundgarden
- The Mahavishnu Orchestra
- Miles Davis (especially electric-era)
- Frank Zappa
- Deltron 3030
- Michael Jackson
- D'Angelo
- A Tribe Called Quest
- Wonder Girls hahaha
- Epik High
- Buffalo Daughter
- The Beastie Boys' Paul's Boutique
- Shiina Ringo's Karuki Zamen Kuri no Hana (EVERYONE SHOULD LISTEN TO THIS RECORD)

Eno [Specifically the Ambient series]
Schulze [moondawn etc]
FSOL [the 'lifeforms/Archives/Dead Cities sampler-heavy stuff]
Bill Laswell
Biosphere
Carbon Based Lifeforms
Jarre, of course

.. but interestingly the music I make sounds nothing like them. Instead, I'd like to thank our own members Carbon111 and TrondC for making the music I've been digging most recently!

For me it's both Klaus Schulze and Tangerine Dream's 70's period.
And Vangelis' Blade Runner soundtrack.

ehhhhh.....making a list is kind of pointless. Sure we all have our various musical influences, but I get more influenced by life experiences(gives meaning to the sounds I create). I see it like this....If I'm living a crazy fu**ed up life(one that I have the power to change), and I do nothing to change it how can I call myself an artist?

Not Pointless at all. I never would have heard of a lot of the artists listed on this thread if it wasn't for all of you making these lists!
It is better to be pissed off than to be pissed on.

My synth influences:

Walter/Wendy Carlos
Keith Emerson
Rick Wakeman
Jan Hammer
Tangerine Dream
Klaus Schulze
Eno
Kraftwerk

Not that I sound like any of them but they got me interested in the instrument.

Honorable mention to Frank Zappa who did a lot of tape based EM with the Mothers of Invention.
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

Scorn's "Evanescence" is the most chill album I have heard in years, been listening to Scorn for a while now so it's good to see someone else mention them. Great atmosphere on that album and I wish could find more stuff like that ("illbient" "industrial dub" or whatever.) The remix album and the rarities album are great too.
Recently I have been listening to Lassigue Bendthaus, Suicide Commando, Leather Strip, Severed Heads, various industrial etc. I like discovering new music all the time. One album I have also been into recently that is very chill as well is the Sly and Robbie album they did with Howie B (Drum and Bass Strip to the Bone [sic]). In general I listen to everything from Weather Report to ambient to 90's hiphop but my favorite bands are in my signature. As a musician Tony Banks from Genesis has had the biggest impact on me.
