Bought Korg MicroX twice, both broke within days

Re: What synth have you bought more than once?
i have a love hate relationship with the Virus TI. I've bought 4 and sold 4.
Aside from that, I have bought a Motif XS twice, I should never have sold the first one. Unlike the Virus, the XS has something that no other hardware workstation has, which is the arranger functions for spontaneous playing. Effectively Yamaha made the Motif into a Tyros, whilst keeping the workstation cool and the sample functions.
I have played a M3 and a Jupiter80, and they're still behind on this. Maybe the Kronos has caught up, but KARMA isnt as useable as the programmable 4-part arpeggiator, despite being more flexible on paper... the reason I sold the M3 was that Korg never implemented user arps, despite even Steven Kay asking that they do so. KARMA is a world beater if you get - and learn - the software that programs it.
I might very well buy another Moog phatty, but this time it'll be a slim.

Oh no, what happened?vladimotor wrote:Bought Korg MicroX twice, both broke within days

I tried one out in a store a while ago and really liked some of the sounds that thing had, but I will admit the build quality isn't the best. Particularly the knobs seemed very flimsy.
But personally, the only things I've bought two of were to get another one in better condition to replace it with - the SH-101 and the System 100 model 101.

Stay away from MicroX, the idea is cool but, it is a total s**t, joystick breaks, dial wheel breaks(the only way to dial patches), goes out of tune...99% of MicroXs breaks within days or months.

TR-606 (3) sold one, gave away modded one with a click for a kick... and gave one to someone as a bday gift
Alpha Juno (2) had the Juno 1, sold it.. recently got a Juno-2
Roland D-50 (2) sold the D-50, .. got a D-550 years later after selling the JD's and JV's.

Is this statistic straight from Korg or based on your own professional research?vladimotor wrote:Stay away from MicroX, the idea is cool but, it is a total s**t, joystick breaks, dial wheel breaks(the only way to dial patches), goes out of tune...99% of MicroXs breaks within days or months.

Brains can be used like a "stress ball," but only once.

Viscount / Oberheim OB-12.
Everything else I've not sold/re-purchased, and selling the OB-12 taught me a hard lesson.
