I have the following ...
M1
Juno 60
MS2000
DX7
DX21
Micron
ESQ-1
Poly 61
What's my best chance for finding that wurly sound? if anyone has a decent patch for any of these lying around i'd appreciate it

I would second your mention of the DX7. There was an excellent patch done back in the day specifically for the DX7II that used the mod wheel to control the timbre.meatballfulton wrote:The "best chance" would be the DX7, M1 and ESQ-1 I suspect. Maybe the MS2000 if you try the DWGS waveforms. Start programming
Any idea where one could find said patch?wildpaws wrote:I would second your mention of the DX7. I likely have that issue of Aftertouch in my archive of old copies. I don't remember if that was the patch I had in my old DX7II work file or not, my IIFD is currently under repair for some water damage that happened while it was in storage. I have a version that I reprogrammed for my SY77 that would not be too difficult to regress back to a DX7, I can also check my old DX7IIFD disks and see if I have one of my old work files available. If I don't post something in a few days, the OP can send me a message or post to remind me.V301H wrote:There was a great Wurlitzer patch published in Yamaha's Aftertouch magazine somewhere around 1986-87. Each issue featured a DX7 patch often programmed by a high profile DX7 user. I think this patch was programmed by Lowell "Banana" Levinger who played Wurlie with The Youngbloods in the 60's. You might try the YamahaDX Group on Yahoo!. Someone there will likely have this Aftertouch issue with the Wurlitzer patch.
