Rob Papen DVD coming soon

Post by synthnl » Mon Nov 07, 2011 8:37 am

Hi,

As you might have heard, Rob Papen is producing a book with a DVD about synthesizer sound design. For this DVD Rob recently shot some footage in my studio. While Rob was filming, I filmed them with my own camera. I made this little 'teaser' video which is sort of a 'making of', but it will give you a glimpse of what is coming. I hope you enjoy it.

October/november 2012

http://www.robpapen.com/dvd-sound-design.html

It's a 200+ page book and 9-hours of DVD footage..seems pretty epic, will get it. Papen has designed sound banks for most of my fave VST synths. And some hardware synths too.

He designed the Technosynth Construction Yard and Beat Garden ROMS, both for the E-mu Command Station and Proteus 2500 engines.

I've seen these ROMS being sold up to $250 on Ebay's auctions. The beat garden is quite singular, with his meticulous selection of tambourines, ethnic percussions and snares, plus great wood basses and monk choirs...

I have both installed on my command stations. If all the romplers would have his sample selective taste, this would be a better world....

what a studio, even a SY99, ahhhh I miss it....

Papen is like a hybrid between Sacha Baron Cohen and Vince Clarke
His sex dungeons are rumored to hold hundreds of people in secret locations around the world.
