WORST youtube synth demo?
Bad audio, mostly talking, bad playing, ...
What's, to you, the WORST synth demo you've ever come across?
This is my new "favorite":

Re: WORST youtube synth demo?
Yep the knobs turn and the lights are going blink-blink haha. Well, to make this more interesting we should probably skip the vids for ebay/sell items or we'll have a bunch of scales and blink-blink. Most importantly I think we need to tread carefully knowing our peers are cruising this forum constantly. That said, let us allow ourselves some humor and not take anything too seriously and maybe some good constructive criticism can come out of this.
He well admits in his description, "SHUT. THE F***. UP about this god damn cover, i know it's horribly done, and sucks rediculous amounts...."

Re: WORST youtube synth demo?
Seems obvious to me that he's just showing that all the knobs, keys & buttons work as he's selling the keyboard. However, he probably should have deleted the video after it was sold....

Any one that cuts into Jump
Any one that uses an external mic
Anyone with presets (I don't understand why synthmania does this)
Apparently 90% of Jupiter 6 demos. (Anybody know of a good one that isn't a multitracked song?)

I'm not a big fan of multitracked songs as synth "demos".Alex E wrote: Apparently 90% of Jupiter 6 demos. (Anybody know of a good one that isn't a multitracked song?)
3 years ago, I made a demo vide of my JP-6 and RE-301. It's OK, nothing super special and the camera's audio auto adjust jacks with the sound. I'd be happy to make a new one (I've got better cams now), let me know what you'd like to see in a JP-6 demo.

Ah, saw that one. I liked it, but it was basically one sound. I'd love to see a different variety of patches and sounds. Especially stuff like strings and pads.Z wrote:I'm not a big fan of multitracked songs as synth "demos".Alex E wrote: Apparently 90% of Jupiter 6 demos. Re: WORST youtube synth demo?
Yeah, it was more of a demo of the Europa's polyrhythm update to the arpeggiator and the Chorus Echo box. I could try to work something up in a few days.
Solderman made a good audio demo of a variety of sounds from my JP-6. You might do a search of his posts.

Here's my all-time favorite crappy synth demo--skip to about 26:20.

"Sure that's fine in practice, but what about in theory?"

I'm a cynical/critical asshole and all.. but I'm not a fan of ridicule.
This thread is all in good fun, but this is a public forum. Many of the people in the videos posted/will be posted likely post/lurk here ...
maybe this thread should go somewhere else?

screw AG. I hate his videos. "have you ever heard a triangle like that!" - what a load of malarchy.Nannerfan wrote:I'm a cynical/critical asshole and all.. but I'm not a fan of ridicule.

Kidding aside (thanks automatic gainsay for all the informative videos and animoog tease) if these people don't like us picking on their videos, then they shouldn't put up them up for public viewing. besides if we didn't like them, we could just comment on them in the youtube comments section. I actually think this thread is upbuilding considering one's like Z and AG are actually making legitimately viewable and informative videos, and if he/they could learn a few tricks the avg viewer finds repulsive in the process, then go for it.
I for one hate short videos where they basically just tweak filter cutoff and then talk about how awesome the synth is. I want an in-depth explanation and example of the capabilities of the gear with clear video and half decent sound.

I sort of feel like the whole internet could use a little of the old "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all". But that's just me.

Ahhh yes, the old 8-bit SH101. Today's 64 bit analogue is far superior.
