Also, looks like Behringer is doing something interesting...

i've heard a few people were disappointed with their mpks, so perhaps this is the big comback for akai. those do look pretty sweet.

if they did that, someone else would just say "why didn't they incorporate the dock into it to make it a more cohesive unit?"

Four banks of sliders and pads as well as an arpeggiator and step sequencer built in? AND cv/gate? Where do I sign? Im trying to decide what price it'd be a steal at, but any price would still be tempting. Definitely interested in that.

Mini brute looks capable too, and for only $550. Right on.

I love my MPK for the most part ...only gripes are no firmware updating on OSX ( it will brick it ) and not a real comprehensive NRPN feature set . Some people don't like the Key bed ...it's more resistive than some , but that's one of the things I do like about it . The pads could be more responsive , but that can be said for all latter akai products and that can be fixed very easy with options as expensive as $20 for the corks or $1.00 with some electrical tape lol .

I'm very interested to know what the full spec of the CV part is ?
Alex E wrote:Great, but why only 25 keys?? :x I don't get it.
It is the Mini Brute ... may well imply a full sized Brute .... Arturia's Midi Keys are 25/49 etc.
I could see it .

Where'd you hear 550? I heard 500 euro which is about 640 USD.

because it's really a sound module... notice there's no wasted space ... like a nord or virus?
That's because they just added keys to be nice about it.. it's a bonus!
