New KaossPad/Kaossilator at NAMM?

Post by Hugo76 » Sat Jan 14, 2012 3:07 pm

When I upgraded my iKaossilator before, I was greeted with a teaser that said 'The Real Thing' will be announced at NAMM. In the picture there was one red and one yellow cable. A merge of the KaossPad and the Kaossilator? Hopefully... :)

Yeah, I guess a mod just saw the first sentence of the first post and didn't catch the possibility of the physical existence of the product discussed. I'm curious too, if it may help to reduce the price of the current Kaossilator Pro!
Available for sale:
-DSI Mopho
-TherapSID mk1
-Chamber of Sounds Jupiter III (mk1) & Jupiter T (mk1)
-The Complete DX7- Howard Massey (with original enclosed sounds on soft disks)

it isn't in the moderator logs as having been moved... and there isn't a shadow of this thread in general...

Are those cables or the side of the product? It looks to me like the side case of the iphone/ipad- so I would guess it's another app (or bridge between apps) and not a tease to a hardware piece.

It also wouldn't make sense to tease a user with another product from a different mindset.

That's like getting a teaser for a hardware desktop synth after upgrading your VSTs version to current.
Actually, that's exactly what this would be. Please remove me saying "like".

Interesting observation. Since I'm very short on cash at the moment, it would be awesome if it was indeed a KaossPad for the iPad

I can agree except that Korg did just that with the iMS20 app promoting the teaser for the Monotribe " Want to play with some real analog knobs " I think was the tag line

Though I too think the form factor looks very iPhone , but I guess we will know soon enough .

Korg are gonna release an iphone? I doubt it. ;)

I'm gonna get my prediction in right now (before I move the thread to general) and say I think it's going to be a new Kaossilator/Electribe. Digital, like a Kaossillator with a better sequencer so you can use it like an Electribe.

I could be totally wrong but that's my guess anyway. It's too soon and the wrong aesthetic for the analogue Electribe yet.

Korg have already done exactly that in the past when they included a teaser shot of the Monotribe in the iMS-20 update.

I think it's going to be a new Kaossilator/Electribe. Digital, like a Kaossillator with a better sequencer so you can use it like an Electribe.

I hope so, that would be nice. I just thought KORG maxed out that direction with the Kaoss PRO.
Well, if they can combine the Kaoss surface with a mixer, effect unit and a sampler...
I guess it's a good add-on for anything. Hello Roland D-beam.

So just after a hardware digital electribe (toy) they go more electribe digital- kaoss-pad-thingie.
But the two colors suggest multiple flavors.

If they are consistent with their color schemes....
One will sample/and the other will be for effects....

Or will one only have samples and the other have samples aboard like the original yellow kaossilator?
If it was blue, I'd say EMX verse ESX, but you never know.

A Kaossilator with an electribe sequencer...me thinks interesting, berry, berry interesting.

I don't think those are cables. I'd guess they're surrounding two Kaoss touchpads... :dontknow:
bonne chance

Yeah, the teaser for namm last year/monotribe was done with the iMS20 update, similar to this. If its software only (tag line wouldn't make much sense), alot of people will be disappointed.

Those aren't cables in the pictures, they're lit up frames that go around the pads of the KP's. Yellow=KO, Red=KP. None of the KP's have had play/pause buttons either.. those come from the `tribes. I'm onboard with the idea that its going to be a new box, KP form, that has electribe-ish features.. as in a proper sequencers for parts etc. A bit like iKaossilator already has. IMO.. they're finally doing a "true" Kaossilator Pro, with complete customization of parts and a built in FX unit.

Apologies for thinking the thread was moved.. I was indeed smoking something.
