I think this will be popular like the MicroKorg was, but beyond that, the similarity abruptly ends.

Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth
The thing that strikes me about this synth is that a software maker has gone out and created a really simple and yet well specified mono that could easily have been produced by some of the "Names" in the synth industry. It has everything you could possibly want from a cheap simple unit, perfection would be another VCO and Ring Mod. Also I am surprised nobody has made a big song and dance at the fact the VCF is only 2 pole. Not that I am complaining but it is still a small surprise on a beautiful little synth.
I am looking forward to picking one up in April and just hope the Steiner filter is as good as I remember my Synthacon having.

You always want just one more Synth!

It sounds really squelchy, stabby, and straight gristle. Really excited to get it. Looks like it's been backordered on MF and the release date has been pushed back even further. Hoping I placed the order in time for the first run.

This will probably be my first new synth purchase as well. This is the first time I've ever felt that a synth was worth the price new.
Hopefully other companies will take note: it's not impossible to make things that are affordable, sound great, feature rich and built well.

It was always going to be shipping in April, MF just made up the February date because they didn't have any info but in all the videos the people who know have been saying April.Jabberwalky wrote:Looks like it's been backordered on MF and the release date has been pushed back even further. Yeah this synth has less waveforms, polyphony of one, no presets (WTF?), no vocoder, no delay and doesn't have teh cool retro wooden ends. Microkorg totally owns the Minibrute!Automatic Gainsay wrote:I think this will be popular like the MicroKorg was, but beyond that, the similarity abruptly ends.
Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth
I think that with the Hypersaw we could easy create the detune of two VCOs. And the Metalizer does interesting things too !Synthacon wrote:perfection would be another VCO and Ring Mod. And with CV OUT and AUDIO IN, it's easy to add a real second VCO like a Doepfer for example.
Yes, the Steiner-Parker VCF is a cool choice (many synth are 12dB, like SEM, MS20..) and it's multimode !!
The making of my modular... (ok it's in french, but the pictures are easy to understand !)

I bet there's gonna be an abundance of "hey I can't play any chords" threads as well.Automatic Gainsay wrote:I think this will be popular like the MicroKorg was, but beyond that, the similarity abruptly ends.

Ha ha, to me, this is like saying "you can only play one note."Synthacon wrote:the VCF is only 2 pole.
Plenty of our most beloved synths are two pole!

Popped in and placed an order for one today. While I was there they belled the UK distributor for a shipping date; they said they should know in a week or so...

I wish I started reading up on this sooner. f**k this thing gave me a gear lust boner. I generally have been ignoring newer products, as my computer tech friends say never buy a new release in the first six months, but this thing looks seriously awesome.
