Like functionally? They're very reliable, so not much. Just check it out yourself I guess.Mr. DiSco wrote:What would you verify on an Alpha Juno 1 or 2 before buying one?

Make sure the membrane panels function (I've heard those can go out). Check the LCD (those can go out). Other than that, the typical stuff. Does it power up, dead keys, etc. No hidden nastiness like the 106 bad voice chips.

Thank you! I have found two in my area, and if you say it's reliable I'll go check both, with less fear to be wrong picking one quickly.

Re: Thoughts on the Alpha Juno?
I have the juno 2, it's ok.nothing special. The presets are horrible apart from Syn Rise... what the... is obviously good too but I don't make techno music.
but when you start editing the juno comes alive! I rate the alphas and mks50's a lot higher than the 6, 60 and 106 for sound design. people only get the 6/60/106 for looks.

Re: Thoughts on the Alpha Juno?
Has anyone used the Phutura plugin? It's supposed to be a Alpha-Juno replica, complete with various hoover-based patches. I used to use it a ton until I switched to Mac; it's Windows-only and I haven't figured out a good way to switch between the two for production yet.
