What is the original of this song?

Post by amatsov » Sun Jan 29, 2012 8:46 pm

Can anybody define the original of this cover made by Estonian band.
If somebody can tell what synths or drum machines were used, would be just great!
Thanks!

The Google translation from Estonian means Who Knows How Long. I'm going to go out on a limb and say Beatles "Who Knows How Long I've Loved You" The arrangement on the new is quite different so I could be wrong.

The Beatles song you're looking for is called "I Will". Can't say it bears that much resemblance to this garbage though.

I keep earing a ressemblance with "Dance Hall Days" from Wang Chung. Maybe just as a far inspiration on their part?
Considering parting away from:
-Roland TR707
-DSI Mopho

back to the original gear question though, I wonder what's making the foghorn sound? mid/late 80s, was this "trio" based in a Soviet territory? so maybe the synth could be a Polivoks? or one of these! http://www.ebay.com/itm/AELITA-3-VCO-RA ... 33714d9738
bizarro-
and I'm pretty positive, this was NEVER a Beatles song! :D

If it's a cover I'd look more in the direction of Bananarama or an American act like Nu Shooz than the Beatles.

This means you have a neuron dedicated specifically to that song. How do you feel about that?

The vocals are terrible. The music is really well arranged especially compared to the Estonian cover. Like, ya, there is a fretless bass- but not ALL THE WAY THROUGH!

it's Control by Janet Jackson.
No, "Blind Date - Your heart keeps burning" was released in 1985 and "Janet Jackson - Control" was released in 1986.
