I need a cheap midi controller

Post by mama. » Sat May 26, 2012 8:42 pm

I've got some mpc patches im very fond of, just sounds ive made in chromatic steps I use for adding melodies. It kinda gets in the way that I can only trigger 16 sounds though, what I want is either the cheapest midi keyboard, or something like this would actually be most ideal:

basically I just need a nice box with 64 buttons or keys, and Id prefer it actually sent out a MIDI cable not a USB, is there anything like this? another option is that I have two midi inputs on the mpc so anything cheap with less than 64 keys might be good too
thanks for any help, I just dont even know where to start looking for this thing

For the cheapest option, your best bet is to hit up a thrift store and try to find a cheapo keyboard with midi output. There were thousands of cheapo consumer keyboards made all throughout the late 80s and 90s with midi capability, and you can often pick one up for less than $20.
