I really must continue repairing my Polymoog. (Well, it's soon winter :) )
Yes, most definitely, there are too many Polymoogs out there in a distressed state. It's a real shame there isn't more love for these beasts as they are definitely worthy of more attention.

The resonator - now with more bling ;)

I've lost hours and hours immersed in sonic heaven recently firstly playing with the newly aquired Model D and then the Polymoog resonator but the two together have rendered some interesting results.

Here is the formant resonator giving a bit of a boomy wooden body effect to a Minimoog guitar - the result is a sort of warm pseudo realistic effect. The same sort of effect can be created on synth brass too:

This is basically two oscillators modulated with OSC3 and then fed into the resonator:

Again, maybe not what you might expect from the venerable model D.

Cool!

Well, inspired by your thread I've taken mine completely apart now to do some repairs on the bottom part.

Just saw this, it certainly got some attention

And the presets don't even work

As was posted in the Ebay thread, one of the out-of-production PCBs for this project happens to be currently for sale:

I don't believe it.... it seems Alison Goldfrapp has tweeted a piccy of my resonator after some sort of recent bun consuming exercise in the studio! (that picture makes me feel hungry) :)

Bet it was cherry cake!

They are currently borrowing it - it's really nice to see my old box of tricks being put to good use!! 8-)

We'll it's a long story but I see them quite a lot in the studio these days with new toys to try out.

I have a lot of time for Will & Alison, I'm a huge fan and they are both extremely talented.

The two together make for a very potent combination.

Alison's vocals just make me melt and I could listen to Will noodling away on his huge collection of synths till the cows come home!....
