you can buy an Octatrack without feeling guilty.

Yeah, I have recommended the Octa to a DJ friend who wants to use a lot of live sample manipulation.
So I have no problem with the Octa- it's just not me. And the price is quite nice too. For some reason I thought it was way more.

the LEV 96 looks tits, a lot of the sounds it makes sounds like some bizarre combination of granulators, pitch shifting and filters which makes it perfect. Depending on the price as to the time I'm picking one up but I definitely will. It's an instant indie soundtrack....

It somewhat sounds like an organ when it's sustaining too.

Affordable midi controller with a good touch and that wouldn't take unnecessary amounts of space behind the keys. Alas, that for today's manufacturers seems to be an impossible thing to come up with.

Oh yeah, and a new analog Jupiter 8 by Roland, of course.

A polyphonic version of the MFB Microzwerg or Arturia Minibrute.
An affordable(read streamlined but reliable) 4 voice Midi to CV polyphonic over a single Midi channel interface, including USB. Mostly because I'm tired of waiting for a new SEM 4 voice to come out.
I am no longer in pursuit of vintage synths. The generally absurd inflation from demand versus practical use and maintenance costs is no longer viable. The internet has suffocated and vanquished yet another wonderful hobby. Too bad.

I'd like to see a hybrid of an emx or mpc style groove box with an ms2000 or alesis ion synth without losing any features, quality, ect. Considering how small the sound generation components are on these things, and how the technology already exists, it shouldn't be a stretch. Maybe even use a motif xf style pattern sequencer in it. I know it doesn't make marketing sense to sell something that doesn't have needlessly crippled/dependent features, but damn throw us a bone every once in a while.

I would say FM/PD, but the secondhand prices are still low.

The market still needs a Juno-60/Polysix type option, full interface and simple architecture. Mopho X4 does not cut it.

Actually, the industry needs new chip designs. The current CEM based on 3396 isn't the best, as its 12dB mode does not have very much resonance.

I see that a mod for Prophet-600 is under development that speeds up envelopes and fixes other woes. I really wish MKS-30 or the JX-8P family would get an upgrade.

My dream controller keyboard:

- Poly aftertouch
- Long keys like Yamaha FS action
- Switchable knob panel or slider panel that sends CCs or SysEx
- Arpeggiator that has all the features
- Able to be restyled - looks inspired by Prophet, Jupiter, Juno, OB, or Polysix - this is why the switchable panels.
The vaccine for the Access Virus.

A polyphonic Roland VA synth would be nice. Yeah, the GAIA is a great synth, but... 64 note polyphony yet the synth engine is only on MIDI Channel 1 and there's only 37 keys. :? How about 67 keys, tons of real-time controls (maybe as much as the GAIA if not more), 3 oscillators, multi-timbrality, maybe a touch screen, D-beam, and more than 64 user patches ;) . And don't remind me of the V-Synth; 3 oscillators at least!
