Korg M500 Micro Preset

Post by Analogue Crazy » Fri Feb 08, 2013 2:20 pm

Iv just bought my first analogue monosynth in 2 years, a fully serviced M500SP off ebay. Always loved the sound of this little beauty, anyone had any experience with one on here? Mine arrives monday, can't wait to play with it :)

Nice little synthesiser. Limited but very musical.

I remember buying one from a local pawn shop back in the late 1990s, paying something like 40 Deutschmark for it. Those were the days...

Brian Eno used to have one of these, too. Now that´s a recommendation ;).

I like them and I'm also a fan of the old Korg sound but I'd never pay that much for them, what ever makes you happy I guess.

Got my 700s for £150

Easily my favorite Korg synth I've played.

Slap a lil pedal on there and you're all good. I really enjoy flipping thru the octave ranges on that synth more than most.. has a nice sound.

I had one for a long time - loads of fun! I think I paid $50 for mine. Kind of wish I hadn't sold it, but I tend to sell everything sooner or later! Work within its limitations and you'll have a ball. Push the limits on it (pedals, etc.) and you'll be thrilled. Enjoy!

I'll obviously play one or two OMD lead lines when i demo it on youtube, haha ;) It is indeed a limited, but a warm sounding little 'players' synth is what iv been looking for. Will add some charm and melody to my atmospheric recordings
