The Kinks-Come Dancing, Synth?
What is the calliope-like synth that is being used on "Come Dancing" by The Kinks. I'm leaning towards the CS-80, but I'm not sure.

There's a Kawai in the video. Can't tell what model it is though. Probably an organ.

Kinks keyboardist Ian Gibbons was a Korg endorser in 1983. My guess is he used a Korg Trident on this song. The Trident has the capability of layering it's Synth, Brass, and String sections. You can hear a sound similar to "Come Dancing" at the beginning of this Trident demo:
Prophet 5 rev.2, Pro-One, Juno 60, Jupiter 6, Matrix 12, OB8, MS20, Poly 800, CS70M, DX-7, CP35, Casio PX-5S, Hammond C3/M102, Vox Continental/Super Continental, Gibson G101, Farfisa Compact, RMI 300A, Pianet N, Combo Pianet, S770, S760, S50, NS3C

I don't know what WAS used, but I can nail the sound with the organ section of my Roland RS-09 Organ/Strings. I vote any analog synth with a simple organ sound that doesn't actually sound like a real organ! Haha!

Re: The Kinks-Come Dancing, Synth?
I can't be the only one who notices as the Kink's song "Come Dancing" progresses, the organ music (for lack of a better word?) becomes "sweeter". Just before it ends, right around the scene with the old ladies on the dance floor with the mops, the organ music is at its best. Does anyone know how this was accomplished? (Which organ settings were being tweaked (or "ramped up")?
Perhaps a weak analogy but only once in my life did I experience the taste of Perfect Bourbon Chicken (at a Food Court in a Mall who-knows where)? Tasted EXACTLY like I always thought it should!! Well, that last bit of organ music does to my ears what that Bourbon Chicken did to my mouth!!
If anyone knows which settings were used on which organ (ideally each succession up to that point, but most ideally those very last organ settings) I'd greatly appreciate it and be forever indebted and that sort of thing!!
-- Thanks!!

There's something underneath there that kind of sounds like a steel drum. I always wondered if they layered an Optigan on top of it. It kind of has that cheesy sound.
Switches, knobs, buttons, LEDs, LCD screens, monitors, keys, mice, jacks, sockets. Now two joysticks!

Just happened to see this just now. Of course the Kinks laid hands on a CS.
