Cool. The very first cat expressing interest in this. FYI, there isn't much room on those keys, and the panel is too slanted! :D
Eh, someone had to do it
I got used to the Legacy controller and since rhe keys are bigger than those it should be cool.
I dearly miss my old Ms-20/SQ-10 combo :pissed: :pissed: :pissed:

I can't imagine an SQ-10 would be hard to do now.

AG, when is your review going up? Dying to hear some new sounds out of this thing. Just give us something, internet!

Yeah, with technology the way it is at the moment an SQ-10 with various sync options could be done by a company like Korg for a couple of hundred bucks. I reckon you'd want to ditch the original's form factor and make it a smaller thing that could sit on top of one of the new MS-20s otherwise most of it would be filled with air (which you'd be paying to ship all around the world).

I guess its just the hands on that is the catch for me. I always had fun programming it, as
tedious as it was at times, but still tons of fun.
But, I will say the version of it on the iMS20 is damn nice. Its like having 3 of the at once!!
In the end though, it is just a sequencer. No more powerful than any other one, but no less either...

FWIW there is an eBayer who builds and sells an SQ10 clone, along with other moderately priced sequencer. I don't have any experience with them but the buyers seem happy at least...

I hope they also make some new designs based on the MS series.

Single osc (saw and square) with LFO, VCF, and VCA and 2 octave keyboard = MS-5
3 Osc, 2 LFOs, low pass and high pass filter, etc = MS-50
Modernized MS-20 with presets, better MIDI, etc = MS-25
Polyphonic MS-20 = PS-20

:D

Looks like GC just pushed the release date to April 18. I'm not holding my breath, but the day is probably coming soon MS-20s will be littered everywhere like microkorgs.

Musicians friend pushed back to April 25th as well. I find things a bit unclear with these sites-- is that release date the date if you order now, or the date the next batch would come in? For example, could that mean that the first shipment that may go out April 1st or whenever is already sold out and they're now taking orders for a later shipment, or are all set to April 25th?

I picked up a Minibrute to make the time go faster as well. I was pessimistic at first thinking it would be redundant in my setup. Didn't think such a simple little mono would be so immersing, but after 3 days of auditioning it I couldn't part with the cash fast enough.

Anyways, the LFO/Arp setup on the Minibrute has got me thinking already about a sequencer for when the MS20 mini comes. Seems like the mini would invigorate a lot of interest in compatible products, or build kits, w/ midi sync and various progression modes.

I'm just going to wait until Guitar Center physically has them, rather than pre-ordering. I've had bad experience with pre-ordering stuff and then seeing it in the store, while I'm waiting for mine to be delivered.

Had some bad experiences with preorders too. I ended up waiting several weeks after stores got them physically, because the website had "delivery problems". Bollocks to that.

Has happened with both videogames, peripherals and instruments.

Did you have them ship to your house or pickup in store? I haven't pre-orded anything from them before. At the time I asked the service rep about it and he said the units go to the store sooner, then orders are filled that are shipped to addresses. Supposedly I'm getting an email (automated?) when my unit arrives in the store.
