And just to be anal: that's a Rev2 vintage MS20, AFAIK the new mini MS20 is modelled after Rev1

Edit: despite what they say at the end of the video   My genius magician skills can spot that from here 8-) Audio Central - research your facts :|

It sounds like the mini has more high end, and the keyboard tracking is a little better. Honestly it sounds great, who even cares about the tiny differences?

The only difference I could hear was that the mini had higher output volume. So it sounds "brasher".
Same tonal sound though.

If you are basing this on the fact that their MS-20 has that screw on the front panel under the "Voltage Controlled Amplifier" text, you might be wrong. From what I've read, if it doesn't have the screw, then it has the original KORG-35 filter, but if it does have the screw, then it could either have the LM13600 or the original filter inside. Wikipedia mentions this, plus I remember someone posting about it and even showing pics as proof awhile back. Just can't remember which forum it was though. My guess here is that Korg had some leftover filters to use up when they started cranking out the Rev2 models.

My Ms20 has the screw, but i looked inside and it has the Korg 35 filter, clearly marked.
So yes, you cant tell if it has the 35 filter or not until you open it. But if it has no screw
it has the 35. If it has the screw, then it could have the 35 or later filter.

Either all of the MS-20s I've had were all the same filter type, or this filter distinction is a load of c**p.

Perhaps a dumb question, perhaps not, but can MS20s be patched together?

They can be linked up with other MS synths too..and, oddly enough, the Yamaha CS-series of monosynths aswell.
I had great fun using my CS-15 and MS-10 in tandem. It also takes that strange Hz/V CV format.

God, I would. I LOVED that thing.
I would order that right away. As a replica expansion to the MS-20 Mini. Man, electronic music would be even more Korgfilter-infused if they released that!
