A korgfilter-infusion is when you let an MS-20 soak in vodka for three days.

Same tonal sound though.
They really did sound similar, until he cranked the res. The newer one seemed a little more compressed and less distorted somehow. It didn't have the harmonic overtones of the older one either. I am actually kind of surprised about that.
Do you even post on vse bro?

I wonder how much this will affect the MS-10 prices? No one will pay $800 for an MS-10 when you can get a real MS-20 for $600, even less if it's used.

Guitar Center just pushed the date back to 5/15. I knew it was going to be a pain in the a*s to get one, but this is getting a bit annoying. Pick a f**k date and stick to it, this is like the 5th time it's been pushed back.

The only official release date I've heard or read from Korg is just "Spring." Technically, that time frame is till the end of June. The fact that all these retailers keep changing their dates shows that they really don't have any idea when they will be getting them till Korg finally ships them. Face it, no customer wants to hear "I don't know" from a retailer, which is why they keep making up dates and changing them. It's best to just ignore them and wait till you get a direct confirmation email saying it is officially on its way.

Yeah I get that, but personally I would rather "We don't know when we'll be getting them" as opposed to these arbitrary dates that keep getting pushed back by months at a time.

As for a confirmation email, I didn't preorder because I had a feeling this is what would happen, so I've sort of just been trying to keep my ear to the ground and pick one up when they hit stores.

It would be great if the retailers were honest, but from a business point of view, telling a customer "I don't know" can result in a potential loss in sales. I pre-ordered mine in February, but only because there was a $100 off promo from Guitar Center. Likewise, I've been keeping an eye online and have seen the date change a dozen times already. If I was impatient or frustrated with Guitar Center and decided to cancel my pre-order and switched to another retailer whom has a closer date, it would mean losing my discount. In addition to that, I also wouldn't be getting the synthesizer any quicker because as of now, no one has been shipping them out yet in the US. Korg said at NAMM that the release date would be Spring, which is till the end of June. Right now, it is April. Korg has done absolutely nothing wrong and still have two and half more months to ship these and stay true to what they said about a Spring release date.

Yeah obviously it's an issue with Korg, since all the online retailers have been adjusting their shipping dates simultaneously. I dunno, I just want my damn MS-20! I haven't bought myself a new synth since the R3 came out in '07. I'm due.

I pre-ordered mine from an excellent shop called The Production Room. When i talked on the phone they said mid May is most likely in Yorkshire, UK.

My local store has it listed as unconfirmed april 30. I asked them about it, they said they doubt it will actually be in by then, more like may or june. They're honest with me, I bought lots of gear there.

5-22 for musician's friend. We'll have the new Daft Punk record before we have MS-20.

The heck, I waited 4 months for the Minibrute to arrive, I can wait a while for a new MS-20. I'm never likely to even see the original in the wild.

That's true. I've seen a real one maybe once or twice at shows. The good things come to those who wait.

I've seen one in immaculate condition locally for sale in a synth shop. For awhile, I was going in every other week to sit and play it. Let's just say that their asking price was nearly five times the amount which the Mini is going for. I could actually buy the Mini, the original SQ-10, plus the whole Volca series and it would still be cheaper then what they wanted for the MS-20 alone. They also had a MonoPoly going for like $2000!

Yeah I've seen MS-20's go used for 4 times the price of a new mini now in Norway. It's a ridiculous good deal if you want an ms-20.

Also, follow Marc's MS-20mini series on youtube, gives a great overview of its sounds and features. And see that he is more than just a notorious forumist
