Re: New Novation Bass Station?
Can't wait to get this.. apparently available sometime in june.
Now with this being released i have a sneaky feeling that we're gonna see the reincarnation of the Supernova's etc, sort of a modern day Hypernova Keyboard would be nice indeed.
I WISH

Re: New Novation Bass Station?
Good on them for bringing it back , the original had many fans .
The the one thing that surprises me however , is that with Chris Hugget as part of the team why not go with an OSCar / twin wasp filter ? Either way looks like a capable synth with some different features to stand out from the pack . Good on them .

2 osc +sub.
Noise
Ring modulation
Two filters, one of which is a diode ladder....
2 env
2 Lfo
Arp
Seq
I can't wait until all these synths start hitting the used market. The feature set at price point makes this sound like the most fun mono synth out. No cv/gate is a bummer though.

Excellent. Certainly took the minibrute concept and added more. Looks like there is selection of parameters via the keys. Not sure how I feel about that. If the sound is right, this is a killer.

Agree, I've been emailing them for years (I think they blocked my email now lol) describing them a product similar to what they just released now which is a cross between the wasp and the OG Bass Station. They seem to of done it quite well thoughloungedumore wrote:Good on them for bringing it back , the original had many fans .

IMO They should of done this ages ago, now they are just following trends either way though I don't care this thing looks great and I'll probs buy it.
I hope the envelopes are quick that was my only real complaint on the original one, need more snap lol.

Yes I may stand corrected as I have seen a few blurbs stating that the "classic" filter is from the wasp design .vinyl_junkie wrote:Agree, I've been emailing them for years (I think they blocked my email now lol) describing them a product similar to what they just released now which is a cross between the wasp and the OG Bass Station. Re: New Novation Bass Station?
It's like they fixed everything I don't like about the Minibrute! There are so many good analogs for around $500: Bass Station II, MS-20 Mini, Minibrute, Minitaur, Mopho, that new Pittsburgh Modular thing, a couple MFB synths, Vermona Mono Lancet, and these can all be bought new! I think I got into synthesizers at the perfect time, so many choices!

DCOs home slice.volumetrik wrote:Pretty cool, sadly no cv/gate
Anyway I'm glad there's a synth out there now for people who want the convenience of a VA but want real authentic analogue but don't want to put up with the quirks that make analogue synths so special.

Re: New Novation Bass Station?
what does whether or not something has dcos have to do with cv/gate?

Re: New Novation Bass Station?
DCOs don't need CV to work, so adding CV/gate would require adding an extra converter section rather than just breaking out the CV/gate points like they can in something like the minibrute.samuraipizzacat29 wrote:what does whether or not something has dcos have to do with cv/gate?

Re: New Novation Bass Station?
Has it been confirmed they are DCOs?
Isn't new ms-20 also DCO and new moogs?
