Dream Synth(s)

Post by OB-XaMinimoog » Sat May 25, 2013 4:04 am

The synth that you want the most. These are mine:

Polysynth: Oberheim OB-X
Monosynth: Minimoog model D
Digital Synth: Prophet VS
Workstation: Kurzweil K250 (or K2500)
Other (Sampler): Mellotron. I know its not a synth, but its my favorite keyboard instrument of all time.

If I ever get just one of these 5, I'd be happy. If I could only have one it'd probably be the OB-X.

Feel free to list some of the synths you want the most.

I guess my dream synths (ie, unrealistic) would all be polys : cs80, chroma or a ps3300.

Due to the fact that I'll never have enough $$$$ to purchase the following:

PPG Wave 2.3

Jupiter 8

I have a few of my dream synths already:
I got a Taurus 3, got an OB-8 (working out bugs still) and have a Minimoog Model D on indefinite loan from a friend that's not a synth guy.

Other than that I plan to get a DX with factory midi, a DSX, and either an SH-2 or SH-09... just need to save a little more and find nice specimens.

Polysynth: Jupiter 8 - OK, I've already got a fair amount of Roland gear... But it's a Jupiter 8!

Monosynth: ARP 2600 - I'll never be able to afford a real one, but I am interested in the clone project.

Digital Synth: PPG Wave. Or Prophet VS. I can't decide.

Workstation: Does a Fairlight count?

Other: Dirty great modular....

I actually compiled an extensive Excel file about this. But I'll just name the top synths per category.

Polysynth: Oberheim Eight Voice
Monosynth: ARP 2600
Digital: Roland V-Synth (already have it)
Workstation: actually, I'd prefer a good set of samlple libraries
Other: A fully restored reed organ
