Read the review on page 1.
EACH oscillator (of which there are 4 per voice) can be set to use up to 3 waveshapes - a left, center, and right, and you can modulate between the 3, using any combination of mod sources. So yeah, it can be "recorded".
It isn't PPG-style wavetable synthesis, because the "table" is effectively 3 waves long (but the waves are higher quality).
Strictly speaking, it isn't "Vector synthesis" either, because there's no joystick or free path.
But the reality is you can get tones that are quite similar to both the PPG and the Prophet VS without too much work at all, and the Prophet 12 allows much, much more than those boards were capable of.
